Quality Assurance Outline

EMTI-Electronic Manufacturing Technology, Inc. is a turn-key contract manufacturer. Our mission is to produce customers products working as an extension of their own factory. As a contract manufacturer, we must achieve and sustain the quality of the product or service produced to continually meet the purchaser's stated or implied needs.

EMTI's quality philosophy is based on a company commitment to quality performance and service and a commitment to continuous quality improvement throughout our operation.

The company's comprehensive quality program starts with the President of the company & includes total operator accountability and statistical process control. The quality control coordinator will administer the quality program and serve as the focal point.

Some of the industry standards and publications currently in use at EMTI:

* MIL-Std-2000 Electrical & Mechanical assembly standard. This standard is supplemented by color illustrated, workmanship manual produced by Martin Marietta.
* ANSI/J-Std-001 Requirements for soldering electrical and electronics components.
* IPC-A-610C Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.
* IPC-R-7-C Guidelines for modification, rework, & repair of Printed Circuit Boards assemblies.
* DOD-Std-1686 Electrostatic discharge.
* MIL-Std-105D Quality sampling procedures, tables & MIL-Std-414, Percentages.
* ANSI/IPC-T-50D Terms and definitions.

In addition to "Boiler Plate" standards, publications and pictures, EMTI will evaluate each project and develop specific processes which incorporate the appropriate standards, procedures and checkpoints. We feel this step fulfills the specific needs of each project and is necessary in the pursuit of ISO 9000 Certification. Following are some of the items reviewed in the process development.

1. PRE-PRODUCTION:
· Evaluate product documentation from customer.  
· Develop preliminary manufacturing cost.
· Identify process inspection points & control chart criteria.
· Manufacturing Engineering build critique.
· Problem ":Hit List".
· First article.
· Customer feed back.

· Close loop on feed back, critique and hit list

2. PRODCUCTION:
· Finalize manufacturing process and put process under control.
· Formalize WIP-Work In Process control chart collection and review.
Refine "Hit List" into product cost/quality review program.
· Develop vendor/supplier quality review & improvement program.
· Customer feed back review and develop action list as required.

3. FDA level 1 traceability.

4. Goal of becoming ISO 9002 compliant and certified.

5. High temperature and leadfree solder process is available for special applications. e.g. Microwave, RF and Automotive industry applications.
